Living in Williams is similar to living in a nature preserve. Some even compare it to living in a National Park. The surrounding beauty is staggering. No crowded residential developments, mostly forested hills and mountains, farmland, horse country, and custom homes. Yes Williams is amazingly convenient to most everything Southern Oregon has to offer.
3 convenient stores, 2 gasoline pumping stations, 1 restaurant, hardware store, mechanics, library, elementary school and US Post Office are a few miles from any residence in Williams. World class dining at the Applegate River Resort is an easy 10 mile drive, Jacksonville and the Britt Festival are about 23 miles.
Wild turkey, deer, Canadian Geese, Blue Heron, quail, pheasant, foxes and other wildlife are all regular “visitors” in what amounts to your own magical wildlife preserve. Hawks and eagles soar overhead. Pacifica Botanical Preserve and its hiking trails is a destination for nature lovers in the area. Numerous creeks surround the area including Williams Creek, a salmon spawning creek.
Nights are a sheer delight with beautifully clear star filled skies and the legendary peace and quiet of the Williams Valley. Williams is unique in Southern Oregon. Unlike most communities, Williams has no major through roads, so traffic in Williams is minimal.
As you can see, so many come to Williams to visit and decide to make it their permanent home.
